Constable Kathy Macdonald is a 17-year member of the Calgary Police Service. She is a featured presenter for the Crime Prevention Unit and specializes in the delivery of crime prevention presentations in the area of Identity Crime, E-Risk for Children and Cyber Crime prevention. She received a Chief of Police Leadership Award for her work with the 1997 World Police/Fire Games and was awarded the 2003 Police and Private Security Liaison Award from the American Society of Industrial Security (ASIS).
Kathy holds her Senior Police Management Certificate and a General Management Certificate from the University of Calgary. She is a member of American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) and was a featured presenter on the topic of identity theft and cyber crime at the Intersec 2004 Security Conference in London, England, and the ASIS 2003 Annual Convention in New Orleans. She is a member of the High Tech Crimes Investigators Association and is on the Board of Directors of ASIS Calgary. She is on the Management Board of the Centre of Information and Cryptography and instructs on the subject of E-Security for Security Professionals at the University of Calgary.Centre for Information Security and Cryptography
